Karen Louis – Executive Director
Karen is an artist and passionate advocate for the arts in education. She began her career as an artist, actor, arts administrator and teaching artist in NYC(The Women’s Project and Productions) and Chicago(Striding Lion Performance Group, Healthworks Theatre, Afterschool Matters). Karen holds a B.A. in Theatre from the College of Wooster, Oh, an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from Columbia College, Chicago and is currently working on her M.A. in Nonprofit Management from Antioch University, Los Angeles. Inspired both by the overwhelming talent of the students at LACHSA, as well as the nurturing and cultivation of those talents into skill provided by the combination of conservatory-like training and highly skilled artists, Karen is proud to support this unique and wonderful school while contributing the the ever-expanding conversation regarding arts education, access and sustainability in the public arena.
Alina Borja – Development Associate Alina Borja is a young arts professional that truly believes in the power of art to uplift and empower youth and their communities. Alina works with the Arts High Foundation and LACHSA to make arts/education more inclusive and effective for the people of Los Angeles. Prior to joining the Arts High Foundation, Alina explored the field of arts education and community building through several internships across the country at the San Diego Museum of Art, the Erie Art Museum, and the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. She also pursued the museum field here in Los Angeles, working as a Library Assistant at the Autry Museum of the American West in Griffith Park. Alina is from Escondido, CA and holds a bachelor’s degree in Art History from Stanford University.
